Ever had one of those weeks when life seems like a roller coaster and you keep saying “I will get caught up and next week will be better”? But, it continues week after week? Story of my life….
So, I recently decided to take control of my life by making a few small changes daily. These might seem like nothing, but believe me, they work!
1. First thing I do when my alarm goes off is to take 5 minutes to thank the universe for my amazing life (law of attraction, we will get into that another day). This immediately gives me a sense of purpose.
2. I make my bed. Yes, I was one of those people who hates making their bed. Making my bed gives me that feeling that I am organized and it is nice to come home to a well-made bed.
3. Meal prep my lunch from the night before. So in the morning I can focus on other stuff instead of fixing lunch and breakfast, gets me out the door faster and earlier.
4. Do at least one act of charity daily. Buy a coffee or breakfast for a homeless person. Something, anything…I try to be kind.
5. Play as hard as you work! I gave 100% when I am at work but leave when I must. I socialize as much as I can, whether it’s having people over, attending functions, or just hanging out with friends.
6. Always… and I can’t stress this enough…..always make time for yourself. Any spare time I get I use it as “me time”. Whether its a bath, doing my nails, getting a face mask…I do something for myself every day.
7. Be your own motivator. I never talk down to myself. Whatever went wrong can and will be fixed. Cry it out if you must but get up and show the world you are a force to be reckoned with!
8. Budget! Budget! Budget! I am smart with my finances. Don’t keep up with friends or trends if you can’t afford it. I buy what I need and save for what I want and, I buy mostly on sale. Yes, I use flyers and coupons and I am always looking for sale. Call me cheap but it works for me.
9. DIY…If I can’t afford to buy it then I make it! My blogs will be soon be featuring stuff I made. I have made from dresses to home decor for less than half the sale prices and they all look very amazing!
10. Let go of garbage. This doesn’t just mean trash. It can be anger or something that happened in the past (this is hard for me especially when people push me),and trash . If I have no uses for something then I give it to a friend, donate it, sell it or dump it. Holding on to trash causes clutter just as holding on to anger causes depression and sadness. Something bad happened? Learn from it and let it go! You are human…it’s ok to err.
