Over time, the amount of collagen in a person’s skin begins to diminish.
This causes the skin to lose its firmness and elasticity, and gravity can make everything start “looking down”. You know what I mean, boobs not as perky as before, cheeks are droopy….should I go on? Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with aging gracefully, but if you’re like me and want to firm things up, then keep reading.
There are many ways you can firm and tighten sagging skin. You can invest in products, exercise, or even surgery; if that is within your budget.
First, let’s start with Face Care. DO NOT forget the neck!
Build a skincare routine, stick to it, and invest in a skin firming cream. Do not forget the neck and decollete area. This area needs the same care as your face but tends to get neglected. There will be trial and error in finding one that works for you. Read product reviews and try samples before you buy.
Start facial massaging! This also was very effective for me. There are many tools you can use to do this, or your fingers work just as well. Many Youtube videos will guide you to effectively do this.
Start jade rolling! There are many brands of jade rollers on the market, but they all basically do the same thing. They come with instructions on how to use them. Keep your roller in the fridge and use it every day.
Try a Gua Sha and say hello to your long-lost jawline. This is one of the most effective tools that work for me. Easy to use and results are within a few days.
Facial sculpting tools are also effective. They reduce the appearance of wrinkles, improve skin tone, helps reduce pores and flush out toxins to enhance skin’s youth and elasticity. I use my roller on my face and body. This helps with firming and cellulite.
Body care is not just about firming; there is also the issue of cellulite. Both can be improved with exercise and products that target these problems specifically.
Invest in a skin firming body lotion. There will be trial and error in finding one that works for you. Read product reviews and try samples before you buy. Moisturize every day immediately after showering.
Exfoliate. Try coffee scrubs. Coffee has many skincare benefits and one of them is skin firming. Coffee also helps diminish cellulite. You can purchase one or easily make one at home.
Excercise. There are many ways you can work out to make your body firmer. There are specific exercises that target different areas of the body. Youtube is great for many different workout videos.
Take a Collagen supplement. These are available in tabs, powder, and liquid forms. It will help improve skin condition and help your bones and joints. Collagen works best as a supplement rather than a cream that is applied to the skin.
Remember, consistency is key. None of these will be an overnight success; you have to put in the work to see results.
